In December, Thalia, Jake and Phil, had the pleasure of visiting the local secondary school, Delta Academny, to take part in their Careers Fair. We spent the full day at the school, speaking with pupils about their future ambitions, career interests and the many different paths available to them after education.
The event brought together a range of businesses from the local area, each representing different industries and roles. It was great to be part of such a collaborative effort, giving students the opportunity to hear directly from professionals and gain real insight into the working world.
Throughout the day, we spoke with pupils across different year groups about what our roles involve, how we got started in our careers, and the skills and attitudes that have helped us along the way. Many of the students were eager to ask questions, share their aspirations and explore options they may not have previously considered. From creative industries to technical roles and everything in between, the conversations were thoughtful, honest and inspiring.
One of the most rewarding parts of the day was seeing students grow in confidence as they talked about their future. For some, it was their first time engaging in a careers-focused conversation, and we were proud to help them reflect on their strengths and interests.
We thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Careers Fair and supporting young people at such an important stage of their journey. Events like these highlight the value of connecting education with local businesses and giving students access to real-world advice and guidance.
A big thank you to the school for inviting us, and to the other local businesses who joined us in making the day a success. We look forward to supporting more career-focused events in the future.
